About Me
I am Jaber Daneshamooz, a PhD student in the System and Networking Lab (SNL) at the University of California, Santa Barbara, under the supervision of Professor Arpit Gupta. My research sits at the intersection of machine learning, networking, and security, addressing real-world challenges such as performance optimization, network measurement, latency reduction, and security. I developed NetReplica, a cutting-edge framework for emulating realistic network conditions and generating high-quality, domain-generalizable datasets. This framework not only enables accurate network measurement but also ensures consistent replication of real-world conditions, providing a robust foundation for reliable application performance comparisons. NetReplica has gained traction and is currently being utilized by several research projects to advance networking research.
In addition to my research, I am deeply involved in mentoring, leadership, and entrepreneurship. I have mentored nine students through programs like ERSP, Cal-Bridge, and UCSB RMP, supporting underrepresented groups in STEM (2024–Present). My entrepreneurial interests led me to complete NSF I-Corps ZAP and BOOM, and I am a two-time recipient of the Harold Frank Scholarship. These experiences fuel my growing interest in entrepreneurship and management, areas where I continue to explore and contribute actively.
When I’m not working, you can often find me surfing at Devereux beach or exploring Santa Barbara’s hiking trails, enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds the area.
